Bed Covers
The bed is the highlight of the bedroom. It serves as a stylish accent to the room’s interior. That is on top of its main purpose as a resting place after a hard day’s work.
For a lot of designers and stylish homemakers, dressing up a bed is fun and pretty challenging, too. What with all the different accessories that you can use to beautify it. There are many ways to make the bed, using the different sheets of beddings currently available. In this article, we will define the bed covers — each piece of fabric that are being used to dress up the bed.
Bed Sheet – this is a bed cover that is spread out to the mattress. There are different kinds of sheets. There are those that lay flat on the mattress with clips that will keep it from falling off. In some countries, a second sheet is provided to protect the mattress cover.
Bed Skirt - this is a decorative accent that is used to decorate the sides of the bed. Doubly, it acts as a cover to the boxspring as well as the foot of the bed.
Bed Scarf – this is usually a two feet by eight feet piece of fabric that goes to the foot of the bed. In many cases, it comes with coordinating pillows, which are used to match the accent that the bed scarf provides.
Bed Runner - this is another decorative accent that is either put across the foot of the bed or lengthwise. It is used to provide an interesting punch to a plain bed layout.
Blanket – this is a large piece of clothing that is laid out on the bed to keep the user warm, especially during night’s sleep. They differ from sheets in a sense that blankets are generally thicker.
Comforter - this is a type of blanket that is laid out on the bed to keep those using it warm. Generally, comforters are rectangular in shape and are large. They are also filled with insulative material, either natural or synthetic.
Aside from bed covers, pillows are also largely used to decorate the bed. There are a number of pillows put on the bed. Aside from the big, rectangular pillows, which generally take up the space at the headboard, a couple of bed throws are also gathered around. They are usually in coordinating colors and are set up, depending on the style the homemaker wants to adapt – either classic, modern, eclectic, or romantic.
